When you draw older people, working on their wrinkles is quite a job. Wrinkles create the expression on the face. The quality of the drawing will depend on the quantity of details and the precision and intensity of each wrinkle curve. The smallest mistake on a wrinkle (even a millimetre) will change the general expression of the face (on this picture)

The mouth, which normally expresses joy or sadness, is hidden by the hand. The only detail that shows that this woman is laughing (beside her sparkling eyes) are her turned up cheeks; emphasized by the wrinkles (so, no question of making a mistake).
